【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedtodeterminethepropertyofacidfunctionality.AcidfunctionalitydeterminestheutilityofthewaxaswellasbeingasignificantQualityControltest.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheacidnumberofsyntheticwaxesandnaturalwaxes.Thenumberisobtainedbydirecttitrationofthematerialandindicatestheamountoffreeacidpresent.1.2Thistestmethod,usinganethanol-xylenemixture,isapplicabletoallnaturalwaxes,includingcarnauba.Thetestmethodisalsoapplicabletooxidizedmicrocrystallinewaxes,oxidizedFischer-Tropsch,oxidizedpolyethylene,andmontanesters.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
